The river cuts through the earth,
the earth cradles the river.
Every boat on every river
was once a bridge,
(take me to the watery side)
and every bridge was once a tree,
(there are no anchors)
and every heart was once a child free from the misery of rivers.
(if I drown, I die)
Every sail
was once a wedding dress,
(if I love, I cry)
every motor was a dream,
(the risk we take)
The look in your eyes
Colder than ice
Is keeping me trapped
Into a non-dimensional
Space
On my face
Mountains of green
Rivers within
Empty skies
My blind eyes
Hold the look in your eyes
on the silence ward
we tip-toe in
words
dressed like wounds
and fiddle with
spots
where the chin
hits the chest
repeatedly
incessantly
stretching them
wide into
smiles
over milk teeth
until tongues
lay dry
as prunes
