for better for worse
the club of Christian happiness is now open
patients are granted a place in heaven
dead or alive
the pharmacies are closed
doctors grope their nurses in utility rooms
and paramedics race each other on the motorways
no tires spared
no lives to spare
the morphine of happilyeverafter has cured
all dead men walking
put
that
pill
down
your slippers on
remove your needles the plasters the bandages the tubes
[they’re all in your head]
lift your knee, now the other,
again
and again
and again
does it hurt?
good
'the pain doesn't go away, you just make room for it'*
keep eyes forward
I’m here, by the lifts
I pressed the button
we’re going down, baby,
way down
put your hand up
right up
laugh and show death the finger
(not that one, silly, the middle one!)
what now?
now we walk out through the double doors,
rip off our gowns, our labels, our old selves
we make snow angels in the grass
then
do the dirty in the pool of love

I don't know... for some

I don't know... for some reason I just can't see this text as something coming from you. It's almost like although I can believe you can write this I still don't see you as it's author. At least that's my perception.
:p

why oh why do you find this weird (I would like to understand the reasoning behind the comment)? I must admit adrenaline does strange things to people and written under a 'flight or fight' situation the text may appear as not 'mine', however, taraaa!!: it is I who wrote this text (which embraces a different angle towards love, let's call it 'tough love') and, I can assure you, there is nothing wrong with occasionally stepping out of the norms. It's somewhat liberating yet stabilizing..
Cheers, Mr V!

For better for worse I'll become a lesbian and still fall in love with this poem.
It's driving me to the edge and, when I think of such edges, I get totally horny!
Not to mention the finger... that was awesome!
Congrats.
P.S: I don't think patterns should be applied upon authors... Corina keeps on being surprisingly fresh. And English language sounds so cool here on Hermeneia, I love it, everything is beautiful!
garcon! cheque please!

Firstly, Marga, you do not need to change your sexual orientation for a poem unless you would make that U-turn regardless of what you read! :p
Secondly, I appreciate your attraction to edges - they say that if you're not on the edge you're taking an awful lot of space!
Thirdly - the finger - well, that speaks for itself I guess...
PS.. yes, English can be cool, unfortunately so is their summer...
..Cheers for the Gold, stay cool, on that edge! :x
